Camping Heaters
Gearing up for a camping trip is indeed an exciting adventure. The thought of getting cosy with the great outdoors, lying under star-lit skies among the natural habitat certainly cannot be complete without the warmth and comfort of camping heaters.
Despite the fact that people like the outdoors, they often do want to have the best of both worlds. On the one hand, they will look for rugged outdoor gear to carry them into the back woods far from civilization.
On the other hand, a lot of them will take along as many modern day comforts as they possibly can, from camping lanterns to even camping heaters, all in an effort to not part with the comforts of home that they have grown so used to.
Although getting a heater for camping can ease the discomforts of sleeping outdoors, there are a lot of reasons why you should really think about whether or not you need this piece of equipment before you go and buy it.
Perhaps, one of the biggest problems with camping heaters is their size and weight. While carrying along a camping heater to a nearby place is not likely to be such a big deal, if you are even going to hike in a mile, you will be likely to notice the added weight of the rig.
Camping heaters are indeed very heavy and bulky and not all that easy to carry on your back pack. If you are going somewhere easily accessible, you probably to do not need camping heaters for your trip. However, if you are off to somewhere cold and remote, carrying along camping heaters will be likely to prove impractical.
| Another big thing about camping heaters is that they are not safe. This is the biggest concern of all. Although camping heaters are often well made, a small leak over time can lead to a big disaster, such as asphyxiation, or an explosion. |
Even when camping heaters are working properly, they can often be unsafe in a small and confined environment. Tents are cozy, to say the least, and putting camping heaters in such an enclosed space is not advisable. Camping heaters can be knocked over very easily, or they can have something flammable, such as clothing or the end of a sleeping bag, pushed into them accidentally.
Do you really want to take that kind of a risk? The basic truth is that, with a high quality tent, and a good sleeping bag, you will not need camping heaters, even in the most remote locations. Follow my advice, and sacrifice a little comfort for a lot of common sense.
So when you're about to plan your very next trip to the great outdoors, remember to check back your lists! Did you pack to enjoy nature or did you pack to invade nature with your modern day comforts? Outdoor camping adventures should remain what they were intended to be and once you're well equip, you may never again need those bulky, overweight and even potentially hazardous camping heaters.
